I have had my LIV Avow for a few years now and I lover her, she is called Velma - from Chicago and yes my other TT bike was Roxy, but I was starting to feel uncomfortable on my long rides.
I completed a 70.3 last summer and felt frustrated with the bike leg, I am naturally round shouldered, but I couldn't get comfortable....was it time for a new TT Bike?
Money was a bit tight and didn't want to buy a bike on finance, so I looked into a bike fit as it was a more viable option and this where I met Alex from AC Performance bike fit.
The great thing about AC Performance bike fit, is that they come to your home, and Alex made me feel at ease straight away. We worked together to get the best position for me, changing the saddle, TT bars and even adding insoles into my cycle shoes.
We even tinkered with my Cube road bike, adjusting the handle bars, stem and seat height.
So at the fraction of the cost of a new bike, I already felt more comfortable, but the proof would be in the pudding, the best way to see if a bike fit is worth it was to get myself down to the TRC 10 mile TT at Bettshanger.
I have competed in a few of these and its the same distance on the same track at the same time of the week. My Time time has been sitting around the 30 minute mark.
The results were in PB of 28:33...
So YES I feel spending the money on a bike fit was worth it!
If you would like more information on this, do not hesitate to contact Alex at AC Performance bike fit.
